Firefighter and Emergency Medical Training

The Training Division is responsible for planning, preparing, and instructing our cross-trained suppression/EMS personnel on the latest procedures and techniques for handling the many challenges we face every day.

In November of 2011, the Chino Valley Fire District’s state-of-the-art training facility was completed. The Training Center includes offices, classrooms, restrooms, storage and a break room. The classrooms include multi-media capabilities, a SMART board and document viewer. Training props include a 5 story tower with forcible entry doors & windows, smoke generator, wall breaching areas, hatchways, rappelling locations, a mock  water well for pipe rescue evolutions, a mock trench, an underground network of pipes for confined space rescue, flat roof & pitched roof ventilation areas, and a 20,000 gallon pump test pit. There are also two rooms designed for Class A combustible live fire training, a propane fed kitchen live fire room and propane fed live fire automobile. A rubble pile is currently being constructed to allow for Search & Rescue training using search dogs and also to provide training for the District’s USAR team.

A Training & Safety Battalion Chief, Suppression Training Captain, EMS Nurse, EMS Training Captain and Training Secretary make up the training staff at the Fire District’s training center. These positions are 40 hours per week and require a 2 year commitment. The Training Captains are assigned as Safety Officers during training evolutions and emergency incidents.
